What or Who is BlogRhet?

This blog is intended as a discussion space that reflects on the practice of blogging itself, especially as it pertains to questions of community, citizenship, and identity. Its contributors are women from many walks of life, academics, teachers, SAHMs, writers, mothers, and grandmothers. All of us author personal blogs and all of us are intrigued by what blogging might mean in a broader context.

We ask, how do blogging communities come together and cohere (or fracture?)? What work do we bloggers do to create online identities and develop our communities? How do online mediums such as blogs potentially transform concepts of identity and togetherness? What can blogging tell us about how we might be making connections in years to come?

Like many bloggers, we have many questions, and many responses. We will not always agree, and that is just how we like it.

Please feel free to join us in our conversation...

Individuals who would like to contribute to BlogRhet on a regular or occasional basis should contact Joy: [gingajoy [at] gmail.com]

Looks like an interesting project. Also dropped by to thank Joy, HBM and Mary for stopping by my site for a dialogue.

I always appreciate the opportunity to discuss issues ~ and to have it done so respectfully and kindly.

Peace,

~Chani

I am VERY VERY excited about and interested in this forum. As a mommy blogger, and doctoral student researching the development of identities in social spaces, the idea of a "meta blog" is just too perfect. Please, please include me in everything!!!

I had to think about coming here for a long time, and to be truthful, I don't know why...but I am so glad I did.
